What exactly is Xblu Secret Service?
It is Xblu's on-call service for websites: a team you bring in under contract to fix, build, manage, organize or plan anything web-related. Most of our work is on WordPress sites and the servers behind them.
Is this connected to any government agency?
No. It is a playful name for a private service from Xblu, a digital marketing and web development company. We are not affiliated with any government agency.
My site is down or hacked right now. What should I do?
Get in touch and tell us what you are seeing. Do not delete anything yet. We will start with a backup of the site as it is, so nothing that could help explain the problem is lost.
Do I need to host with Xblu to use this?
No. We work on sites wherever they live. If hosting turns out to be part of the problem, we will tell you and explain your options.
How does pricing work?
Every situation is different, so each engagement is quoted after a short briefing. Scope and cost are agreed in writing before work begins, and nothing extra is done without your say-so.
Will you work with my existing developer or agency?
Gladly. We often work alongside in-house teams and other agencies, and we are comfortable staying in the background.
What access will you need?
Only what the job requires, granted by the owner: typically WordPress admin and hosting access. We document what we were given so you can remove it when the work is done.
Who is Honey Badger?
Honey Badger™ is Xblu's own lightweight WordPress scanner and the unofficial pet of the Secret Service. On security cases he goes in first to spot files that do not belong. He only reports what he finds; our agents do the fixing.
Can you promise my site will never have a problem again?
Nobody honestly can. What we can do is fix the cause, harden the site, and stay on call so that small issues get caught while they are still small.
